This
is a huge category and a mere sampling is covered here. We
frequently have customers ask for something they have no idea
we carry to find we have it in stock or a supplier
with a high-quality version of their item, so if you don’t
see it here – ask!
We love to offer the highest quality items, and
of course to engrave it, but we also understand that gifts
need to fit every budget and the desire for respect and recognition
is not dependant on price. Therefore we strive to make each
gift special whether it is an inexpensive chrome or silver
plate item or the same thing in sterling.
Kirk and Matz, from Connecticut has very
nice, economical gifts. Their website
gives a nice overview of traditional, engravable items
from baby banks, cups, wedding albums, and more.
We also carry many lines the general public has never heard of which are very nice quality. These include everything from Vermont marble desk plates or bookends to music boxes or humidors. If you don’t see it here, please ask.
Glassware
Crystal looks just lovely engraved and there are more pieces
meant to be engraved available
all the time. We also offer Libbey glass which is less
expensive. There are few engravers who really excel at glass
engraving and we are pleased to be in their number.
All our glass is, naturally, engravable which we cannot say
for all glass. The creation process itself causes minute air
bubbles which, when hit with a diamond can make a crack. Some
glass is also very hard and doesn’t mark well. We do
engrave outside glass but prefer to work with what we know
will work.
Clocks
We have three main suppliers for clocks. Airflyte features
desk
clocks and wall
clocks. Their designs are very nice and as with their
plaques, the quality is very high. Airflyte has an unconditional,
lifetime guarantee (they said they don't care if somebody
puts a bullet through a clock - they'll replace it) It is
the only guarantee of its kind in the industry.
The other preferred supplier is Howard Miller,
selling small clocks as well as grandfathers. We find that
they are focusing on the bigger clocks and the amount of plastic
has been increasing in their smaller clocks. Visit the Howard
Miller website to view their products.
Time Products has a larger variety than
either of the others (and an amazing variety of other things).
Visit Time
Products' website for more information.
Pewter:
Danforth
They have many retailers but we can engrave some of their
products in ways that they can’t, and our prices are
the same. When the products are bought from us there is no
set up charge (as we can reasonably replace it if we have
a problem) and no freight. Click
here to view what is available.
Sterling
Silver
It is very expensive these days and much of it is very thin
as well. (one long-time supplier of sterling baby cups sent
a shipment that was so thin our engraving diamonds went right
through. We don’t work with them anymore!). The oldest
silversmith in the nation is now Boardman in Meridan Connecticut.
They make the PGA trophies and many other prestigious awards.
Their things are heirloom quality which is reflected in the
price. Their website
is rather cumbersome but has everything on it (with a bit
of perseverance).
Pens
Cross is certainly the traditional standard and happily they
continue to offer higher quality lines to engraving companies
that are not available to the big discount houses. We can
engrave pens with a proprietary method that allows us to engrave
around the pen/with multiple lines or with upright logos,
none of which can be done by other engravers. Cross has recently
developed several economy lines which are not engravable.
As with most things – you are better off buying it through
us, we know what can and can’t be engraved.
Again, our preferred supplier, Airflyte
has a high-quality very inexpensive, and engravable line of
pens. While there, the key chains and desk accessories also
make very nice gifts. All are engravable and most come boxed.
